The Atlas Residence project in northern Bucharest redefines the interface between architecture and public space through a precise and elegant landscape design. CMD/LA conceived a sequence of green interventions that frame the building’s main façade with aligned planters and extend into a semi-private courtyard at the back, where residents can enjoy a small park and a decorative water basin. The landscape architecture balances functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that both the urban frontage and the residents’ shared garden provide comfort, identity, and visual harmony.

The street-facing side of Atlas Residence is enhanced with a sequence of aligned planters that create a clear, elegant buffer between the boulevard and the building. Trees and shrubs add rhythm, seasonal color, and a natural filter for the urban environment, while reinforcing the architectural geometry of the façade.
At the rear of the building, CMD/LA designed a semi-private green space functioning as a small park for the community. This area combines lawn surfaces, planted borders, and shaded spots where residents can relax or socialize in a calm, green environment.
The design introduces a minimalist decorative basin made of steel, integrated into the courtyard layout. Surrounded by greenery and paving, it brings a subtle sound and reflective quality to the space, enhancing the courtyard with both visual and sensory layers.
The Atlas Residence landscape architecture demonstrates how urban residential developments can benefit from thoughtful outdoor design. Through planters, greenery, and water elements, CMD/LA created an elegant transition between the street and private life, offering residents a more livable and inspiring urban home.
