The Cosmopolit Cantacuzino project, developed in Brașov, addresses the landscape architecture for the outdoor spaces of a modern residential ensemble. CMD/LA created a concept that integrates the green roof above the underground parking structure with the exterior gardens of the two residential buildings. The design ensures a coherent relationship between architecture, vegetation, and public space, offering residents both privacy and opportunities for community interaction.

The heart of the project lies in the transformation of the green deck above the underground parking into a vibrant courtyard. Trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants are carefully arranged in organic patterns that soften the architectural geometry and provide shade, intimacy, and seasonal diversity for the residents.
Along the boulevard, the design introduces aligned birch trees and layered greenery, creating a soft urban frontage that connects the building to the city. This green buffer improves the pedestrian experience while enhancing the architectural façade with natural elements.
Parking and circulation areas are framed with green walls, climbing vegetation, and strategically planted trees. These elements reduce the impact of hard surfaces, add color and texture, and ensure that utilitarian functions remain integrated into a coherent landscape design.
The outdoor spaces of Cosmopolit Cantacuzino exemplify how contemporary residential landscape architecture can combine functionality with beauty. By blending green roofs, communal courtyards, and streetfront planting, the project offers residents a safe, pleasant, and inspiring environment within the heart of Brașov.
